Austin Starts School

If anyone could have known the anguish I went through about finding a school for Austin --they have thought it was comical!! BUT  I for sure did not!! See--even thought Austin is 5 and *could* start school, I have always felt strongly about him not starting school until he was six. In Ft Worth, we had him enrolled in a "bridge" class---a class specifically for those kids who could be in kindergarten but were not. But with moving to a new city, I not only had a to find a new school for him--I had to find one that provided what we needed--a good kinder prep class for him!
I talked with people who "knew" of schools on the island and kept hearing one name repeatedly. But when I checked them out on-line I was a little intimidated by the price!( double what we had been paying in Ft Worth!)  BUT--I still called them. Long story short---in the end I felt such confirmation that this was the school he was to go to---the director is the daughter-in-law of a midwife that I traveled to the Philippines with years ago. AND she was so excited to help clear an opening for Austin in the pre-K class.
So Austin now attends East End Preschool 5 days a week--8:45-1:30. AND He LOVES it!!
A perk to living near grandparents is they got to be here on the First Day of school! They actually stayed home with Lexi so I could take Austin for his first day alone! So thankful for that !

In front of his class! Welcome to Ms. Green's class!

I got him all settled in before I left--he barely even said good-bye. I think he has really missed school. This Kid LOVES the structure of it all!
